Church Director Vision and Application
Application and continuing education of the Iowa Knights of Columbus with regard to the immemorial teachings of Holy Mother Church.
Growth of the principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity in the Order by implementation of activities which promote principles in a Catholic way. These will include, but not be limited to devotional expansion, spiritual talks, and para-liturgical functions, both statewide and diocesanwide.
Ensuring the celebration of Holy Mass according to the Editio Typica Tertia of the Roman Missal as promulgated by Benedict XVI, Pope Emeritus. Following the Benedictine model of liturgical environment, as promoted in the last two pontificates, following closely the ideal of Noble Simplicity as envisioned by Vatican Council II.
Implementation of a musical program which will allow exposure of the Order to the Catholic high schools in each diocese by inviting their choirs to sing at State Family meetings and conventions. Implementation of a musical program which is in keeping with Catholic tradition, which includes singing the ordinaries of the Mass (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, and Agnus Dei), promoting the proper understanding of Catholic musicianship in a liturgical setting, while holding close to the principle of noble simplicity. Use of instrumentation which is apt for use by the Church, as defined by the Church. The first being the human voice and promotion of chant, as holding pride of place, as determined by Vatican Council II.
By following these principles, we hope to expand our understanding, devotion and spiritual life as both Catholics and as Knights. The principals of catechesis for teaching, spirituality for devotion, and the liturgical life for worship will hopefully guide us through our lives as we become more informed and more educated in our Faith which is contained in God the Father, through God the Son, by the power of God the Holy Spirit.
