Iowa Knights of Columbus donates over $125,000 for Vocations

The Iowa Knights of Columbus donated over $125,000 to vocations in the 2013-2014 fraternal year. The funds include donations directly to the bishops, donations from councils directly to seminarians and postulants, and donations for vocations-related events including statewide gatherings of new priests, seminarians, and those discerning the priesthood.

The Iowa Knights of Columbus state officers met with the four diocesan vocations directors in July to distribute funds and discuss additional ways the Knights of Columbus can support vocations in Iowa. Pictured here in the front row are Knights of Columbus state officers Lorne Mayer of Davenport, State Vocations Director; Father William Reynolds of Newton, State Chaplain; and Dan Werner of West Des Moines, State Deputy. In the back row are the four diocesan vocations directors, Father David Schatz of the Dubuque Archdiocese, Father Joseph Pins of the Des Moines Diocese, Father Brad Pelzel of the Sioux City Diocese, and Father Thom Hennen from the Davenport Diocese.
