If you want to get a website/profile operating for your Council, Assembly, and/or District, go to http://iowakofc.org/video/iowa-kc-council-profile-set-up for an instructional video. For more information and discussion on this issue, go to http://iowakofc.org/forum/topics/set-up-council-profile-page
Catholic gentlemen these days EXPECT to see a council website AND facebook page, and they're not difficult to set up.
IowaKofC.org is *THE* place for a council, assembly, and/or district website because it is easy to use, interactive, and FREE!

I hope you’ll take a look at the Council 4208 website; all you need to do is go to DecorahKnights.tk or http://iowakofc.org/profile/decorahknights and just scroll up and down to see all the information about the Decorah Knights of Columbus; it's that simple.  If it hasn’t already been done, I hope you’ll take the time to set up a website (aka profile) for your Council on the IowaKofC.org website.  Website training is at http://iowakofc.org/page/website-training  Feel free to use DecorahKnights.tk as a model.  And please don’t forget to give us feedback on our website in the comment box at the very bottom of DecorahKnights.tk, by sending us a message via the IowaKofC.org message system (click on the “Inbox” link near the top right of your profile), or by sending email to DecorahKnights@gmail.com

And please add us as a "Friend" if this isn't already the case.  :-)

How many others have you invited to preview the site and give feedback? My first impression has been too busy; however this may well appeal to many others.

Who is the intended audience for this design? so far the focus seems to be on interacting and participation; but I presume we will have other target audiences: district deputies, grand knights wanting specific guidance or direction.Fair to say that most or all of the content from the current site would be woven into this one but adding additional features?

Do you have levels of membership? associate, Knight member, officer etc?which then grants further access to resources

I can foresee a number of 'moderators' perhaps for the different content areas...is that what you were contemplating

I'm also understanding that we may be moving in a commercial direction with advertising sold. Perhaps this will work but I think we need some solid rules on how and who.

Jason, I set you up as a "moderator" which gives you the right to approve content and members.  You will see a new tab on your menu bar "manage" and this is where you can approve items.

Best wishes,

Jason, thanks for registering a profile.  This is the best way to demonstrate the type of web site that can have some major impacts to online engagement and reaching out to younger members.  Feel free to invite others... it is currently set up as a private site with me being the moderator.  We should talk and I will set you up as a moderator so you can approve content, pictures and new members.

Can we talk on Friday?  I am out of the office until then.

Best wishes,

Marty Stratton
