[From "The State of Catholic Families” on page 27 of the September 2015 issue of…Continue

Senate File 84 was considered in a Senate subcommittee on Tuesday. The bill would restrict many employers from asking job applicants up-front about criminal convictions. The purpose of the bill is to provide better opportunities for ex-offenders by preventing their job applications to be put aside immediately based on their criminal record.

On Saturday, January 16, 2016, Council 15603 hosted a parish-wide Family Fun Night. Parishioners came with their families, enjoyed dinner, games (Lego building table, giant Jenga, etc.) and a free-throw contest. It was a great way for our parish families to enjoy themselves, have something to eat, and allow the kids to burn off a little steam without being out in the frigid winter cold.
Council 5043 served up an exquisite blend of sauerkraut chili at the Okoboji Winter Games Chili Cook Off. The group placed first in the non-profit division, and will participate in the 2016 annual competition.

King, then it is only right and just now that the unborn should be the beneficiaries of civil rights legislation to recognize and protect their personhood and dignity.
It was unjust to deny civill rights and liberties to racial minorities in decades in the past. It remains unjust to deny civil rights, the dignity of personhood, and protection…Continue
