LC Clinic Dedication in Former Planned Parenthood Location

On February 28th, the LC Clinic dedicated their new building in Creston. The building had been rented to Planned Parenthood before they closed their doors in July of 2014.  Through the generosity of a local donor, the LC Clinic completed the purchase of the building on the 24th of February.  Planned Parenthood installed the clinical fixtures and layout of the building at their cost.  These changes made the building perfectly suited for the LC Clinic which is a pregnancy care…

Lenten Reflection on the Rosary

Brothers All,

I had the distinct privlege of being part of a retreat some years back in which this topic was discussed.  I pray that you find the same solace and understanding that I did.  Love of the Holy Rosary and Our Mother is paramount in the Order and it should be paramount in our lives, as we draw closer to God the Father, through His Son, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You may have been hearing some discussion about a “start date” for Iowa’s public and nonpublic schools. Iowa law requires schools to start no earlier than the week that contains the first day of September. However, for many years the state has allowed schools to get a waiver and pick an earlier date to start school.

Decorah Knights Council 4208 members attend travel gavel meeting in Waukon on 10 Feb 2015. Three members of northeast Iowa KofC insurance team in attendance.

Several members of the Decorah Knights attended the Travel Gavel meeting in Waukon on Tue 10 Feb 2015.  In addition to the regular members, three members of the northeast Iowa Knights of Columbus insurance team were in attendance:  Mike Bormann, Dan Conlon, and new field agent Wally Witt.  They provided inspirational and helpful information.

Iowa Catholic Conference Newsletter, Feb. 8, 2015


The Iowa House Education Committee passed a bill last week to provide additional spending flexibility for community-based preschools, such as Catholic schools, that participate in the state-funded preschool program.  The bill, House File 156, also includes transportation funding provisions to assist public schools. Decorah Knights ran Mardi Gras fundraising bingo at Saint Benedict's school, Decorah, 11 am - 3 pm on 8 Feb 2015
