Iowa Knights of Columbus family- Welcome to the 114th Annual Meeting of the Iowa Knights of Columbus, April 10-12, 2015, in beautiful Coralville, IA. Enjoy fraternity by connecting with old friends and make new ones.  Learn about our programs, strategies to grow the Order, receive training for officers, all while growing in your faith.  Various spiritual experiences await include daily Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.


The Basics


The Annual Meeting of the Iowa Knights of Columbus is a three-day experience where Knights and their families from throughout the state gather at one site for meetings, spiritual development, and fellowship. During the day, meetings, trainings, exemplifications, and other activities take place. There are activities for all Knights, their wives/significant others, and kids, so all are welcome. On Friday and Saturday evening, a banquet is had where all are welcomed to celebrate the Iowa Knights. Awards and recognitions are presented both evenings.


How do I prepare?

How do I register?


Anyone and everyone can register to attend. The forms are listed on the convention page on the Iowa KofC website- http://iowakofc.org/page/convention-2015


Each Council is given the ability for two official delegates. There is a special credential form that needs to be completed and signed by both the Grand Knight and Record. Each delegate needs to bring a copy of the credential form, and his membership card for entry into the meetings. Each Council delegate who attend all three business sessions will receive the per diem (15¢ per mile round trip and $50 per day) Visit http://iowakofc.org/page/convention-2015 for specifics information.


There are also ladies and children’s events which require registration. Forms can be found on the convention website.


What do I bring?


  • A copy of your reservation and/or credential forms.
  • Soda/Pop can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House, located in Iowa City (click HERE for more information).
  • At least two can goods for the “Cans Because We Care” (click HERE for more information)
  • Your Council’s State Vocations Fund notice and/or contribution (click HERE for the form)
  • An attitude ready for fun and excitement!


Hotel & Parking Information


The convention hotel is the Coralville Marriott & Convention Center (click HERE for their website or call 319-688-4000). Hotel registration opens February 2nd. Make sure when you make your reservation you inform them you are with the Iowa Knights of Columbus. Room cost per night is $99.98, taxes inclusive. Sign up for the Marriott Rewards program. One of the many perks includes free wireless Internet throughout your stay. You can sign up for Marriott Rewards when you check in or in advance. There is a parking garage connected to the facility- cost is $8.48 per day if you stay at the Marriott.


There are other hotels in the area that have rooms reserved. Those include the Holiday Inn (click HERE for their website; ask for the Knights of Columbus rate), and the Baymont Inn & Suites (click HERE for their website; mention the University of Iowa rate).


Ladies and Children Activities


Relax and mingle with other ladies from across the state at our ladies hospitality on Friday afternoon.  We will have fun playing bingo and socializing. On Saturday the ladies will enjoy lunch while listening to Dr. Nancy Thompson from the National Catholic Partnership on Disability.  She will talk about an embracing and welcoming church for all. Sunday after Mass will feature our very own 2015 Convention Ladies Committee Chair Lisa Bormann introducing “Healing Touch”.


During each of the evening banquets, there will be children activities from age three through high school. Age appropriate activities will include crafts, games, coloring, and a Wii tournament.

Special Events


During the weekend, come and meet "Charlie" the mobile ultrasound unit of Informed Choices of Iowa. It will be at the hotel from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day. Take a look at "Saving Lives on Wheels".


On Sunday, April 12th, our Mass will be celebrated by His Excellency Martin Amos, Bishop of the Diocese of Davenport!


Our Financial Secretary Trainer will be offering small group and one-on-one training to Financial Secretaries, Faithful Comptrollers, and KofC leaders throughout the convention.Check the agenda for details.




Do you want to bring home a flat screen TV or a brand new chainsaw? Make sure to bring the stubs of your council’s raffle tickets.  Want to have better chances, buy more tickets at convention.  One chance costs $1 and six chances for $5. There will be a silent auction as well with numerous baskets and offerings. All proceeds benefit local charities.


Fourth Degree Information


The activities on Friday are all about the Patriotic virtue of the Order. We will begin by having an Exemplification of the Fourth Degree at 1:00pm. Cost per candidate is $70. We want to have the largest Exemplification class as we honor Father Michael T. Phillips. The annual District Meeting will take place afterwards, and the evening will swing into full steam with a banquet where we honor the achievements of the past year.
