Bellendier Completes Term as Supreme Director

At the 131st Knights of Columbus Supreme Convention in August 2013, Past State Deputy David Bellendier completed his term as a Supreme Director. Below are his departing remarks to the convention delegates:

+++

It has truly been an honor and a privilege for me these past nine years to have represented the great State of Iowa on the Board of Directors.

I would like to thank our Worthy Supreme Knight Carl Anderson for affording me this "Opportunity of a Lifetime".

I would also like to thank my Brother Knights and their families from Wisconsin, Arizona, Indiana, West Virginia, British Columbia, Newfoundland, Idaho, Montana, Louisiana, Oregon, Wyoming, North Carolina, and Michigan who so graciously welcomed Julie and I at your conventions.

Those who know me know that I worked really hard on putting together these final remarks.  I mean I wrote, and I pondered, and I pondered, and I wrote.  I finally had a pretty darn good 45 minute farewell speech finished and ready to present. I then did what every man should learn to do, I asked my wife to take a look at it.  I said “Honey”, that is what I have to call her when I want her to do something, “will you please read this and take out anything you find irrelevant or anything that you feel does not make sense?”  And fortunately for you, she was kind enough to do that.

So in conclusion…….

Please continue to work hard each and every day to keep Father McGivney’s dream alive in your jurisdiction.

God Bless!

Vivat Jesus!
