Subject: calling brother knights

Hi, all,

At our May meeting, we discussed the possibility of calling members for our future meetings. At our June meeting, I will pass around a roster of all KofC men, and we will all pick names of members that we can individually call. I will try to remember some extra paper and pens, but it would be helpful if every member at the meeting could bring a paper and pen to write down the name of ten or so Knights to call for our July meeting.
Thanks, gentlemen!
Sam

This should NOT be a one-time deal. Not ALL members need to be called immediately, but ALL members should be contacted on some sort of regular schedule. If we are to be a band of brothers, this program (let's call it the CALLING ALL KNIGHTS program) should be implemented in all Councils immediately and run henceforth and forevermore.

And what does a Knight do when he calls a brother Knight whom he might not have seen at an event or meeting lately, regularly, or at all? Just ask him how he's doing and if there's anything the Council can do for him. That's it. Don't ask him to do something. Don't tell him you want him to be an officer. You may want to remind him that the Council does a lot of good stuff, but the main point is Christian outreach to those who may not be able to participate regularly or who have drifted away from the Order for whatever reason. Love your neighbor as yourself, and love him Sacrificially, just as Christ has done for us.
