Ceterville Council #2144 and St. Mary's Parish donate to rebuild Karamdes, Iraq

Inspired by attending the Supreme Convention in St. Louis, Administrative Assistant Ed Pancrazio approached his council, Centerville Council #2144, to help with the Supreme Knights mission to rebuild the town of Karamdes in Iraq.

Karamdes has suffered and been devastated by genocide at the hands of ISIS. The Christian population has been reduced by two-thirds, from 1.5 million to 500,000.

The area of Karamdes is in the Nineveh Plain. This is the land where the people speak Aramaic, the language of our Lord Jesus and His disciples. This is our heritage, we must help to restore.

Centerville Council #2144 voted to donate $2000.00 to help a family restore their home and begin to rebuild their lives.

Ed next approached St. Mary’s Centerville Parish Council requesting a match donation. The council voted to match the request from their charitable donation budget.

Both $2000.00 checks have been mailed to Knights of Columbus Charities. We encourage all councils and assemblies to support this mission both monetarily and with prayers for peace.
