The Knights of Columbus Iowa State Council recently made a donation to the American Martyrs Retreat House in Cedar Falls for the Coming Home Veterans Retreats. These retreats are for veterans who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
For many soldiers, life, including their spiritual life, has been forever changed by the experience of military service, deployment, and mobilization. The Veterans’ Retreat is a Christian-based program designed to help military men and women come to spiritual healing and reconciliation with God and one another.
The Knights of Columbus support our veterans and their return after their service to our country, to reconnect with their families, friends and God. As Patriotism is a cardinal virtue of the KofCs, the State Council was honored to share their thanks by partnering for this meaningful cause.
State Secretary Paul Lee remarked, “As Knights, we are called to share our gifts with our neighbor. We are called to be the eyes, hands, and feet of our God, and utilizing our financial gifts for this manner allows us to put this calling into action.”
