Knights Deliver 107 Beds during Slumberland’s 2013 Making Homes for the Holidays

Since 1993 Slumberland has been helping kids get the restful sleep they require by giving new beds to families in need. Through their 40 Winks Foundation and Making Homes for the Holidays donation event, they have given more than 20,000 beds to families who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor.

For the 2013 Making Homes for the Holidays event, fifty Knights of Columbus from Msgr. J. M. Hanson Council 5038 in Ankeny, Saint Mary-Holy Cross Council 15347 in Elkhart, and Father Richard E. Gubbels Council 15603 in Ankeny delivered 107 beds on 11 December 2013 to needy children in the Des Moines metro area. Each bed delivery included donated bedding and a homemade quilt. In addition, individual Knights and Council 5038 contributed funding to also provide a ten-pound ham with each delivery.

Slumberland provided a warm breakfast to the Knights of Columbus and their family members who volunteered to deliver 107 for the 2013 Making Homes for the Holidays event in the Des Moines metro area on 11 December 2013.
