New Diocesan Coordinator of Hispanic Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Des Moines

The Diocese of Des Moines announced that a new position has been created: Coordinator of Hispanic Youth Ministry, and filled by Luis Salinas-Mendoza (DGK Saint Bernard Council 8702 in Osceola).

Luis comes to the diocese with a wealth of experience at the parish level and diocesan levels, both in Mexico and in the United States and has been a parishioner, member of the parish staff, and local leader in the Hispanic community of St. Bernard Parish in Osceola for a number of years.  Luis will seek to coordinate Hispanic Youth Ministry at the parish level buy identifying and forming adult leaders as well as assisting the Department of Evangelization and Catechesis and Office of Vocations better meet the needs of the Hispanic young people

Luis Salinas-Mendoza is a 4th Degree member of the Blessed Pope John Paul II #3030 and was recognized as "Iowa's Knight of the Month" in August 2012.
