New Hampton's Council 1697 Celebrates 100 Years of Knighthood

A Mass was con-celebrated by left to right, Fr. John Barnes, Msgr. Carl Schmitt, Fr. Mark Osterhaus, Deacon Vic DeSloover, and Archbishop Michael Jackels in honor of the occasion.

A dinner followed the Mass so Knights and parishioners could meet the new Archbishop. State Deputy Joe Ramirez was also present and is shown presenting a plaque to Grand Knight Terry Kasuboski for the Council’s achievement. Field Agent Dan Conlon is in the background.

At the celebration, Council 1697 pledge $500 to the State Deputy’s Over the Edge challenge benefitting Special Olympics Iowa. Since 1998, Council 1697 has given back to area charities and projects $115,500.

Congratulations, New Hampton.  It was an honor and privilege serving in the 4th-degree honor guard for this proud moment in Council 1697 history!
