Remember “I’m the Guy?”
It’s up to us – you and me – to work in our Council Halls and with our brother Knights, especially new Knights to be certain none of them become the Guy who didn’t come back.
As Council Officers ask yourselves as you close out this fraternal year and plan for a better next:
1) Have you invited all members of your council to at least one event: social or charitable? Do you have a plan to do so? Have you considered the Power of 10 structure to facilitate maintaining connections among members.
2) Who showed up to meetings and events and who did not? Don’t know? Create a chairmanship to assign a brother Knight to keep track of who showed up and who did not. Then pass along those brothers to their power of 10 team leader
3) Who participated in council events and functions? Who might be encouraged to consider leadership starting with one event, one well defined role?

THE FINAL STEP UP

Encourage all members to make all of the degrees. See the article, "The Final Step Up," by Les Opat: http://iowakofc.org/profiles/blogs/the-final-step-up
Thanks, Larry, for this important information.

For the coming fraternal year, I'm hoping that the "Power of 10" program (http://iowakofc.org/profiles/blogs/power-of-10-ten-for-recruitment-...) will become an important part of the recruitment and retention efforts of the Councils in District 15.
For more recruitment and retention strategies, visit District15Knights.tk (http://iowakofc.org/profile/District15Knights).
And probably most importantly, let's remember the Prayer of an Iowa Knight, a beautiful, simple, humble prayer. Click here for that prayer.
