You are invited to support, promote, and participate in the 2013 Holiday Caroling Festivities established to spread holiday cheer at senior care centers, as part of a nationwide initiative to promote the overall theme of bringing happiness and/or enlightenment to the elderly, care-givers, and participate during the holiday season. This simple act of kindness can make a big difference and add true meaning for all involved this holiday season.
The tradition of caroling for the elderly began for Vincent J. Leinen, founder and director of the Holiday Caroling Festivities, while singing at local senior care centers with the Saint Mary’s Catholic Youth Organization from Dow City, Iowa led by Virginia Rasmussen. It then continued while Leinen attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and now as a resident of Los Angeles. Leinen’s tradition has since evolved, grown, and expanded into a series of festivals celebrated across the country.
This year’s schedule includes:
6th Annual Denison Christmas Caroling Festivities - Thursday, 12 December 2013 | Denison, Iowa
39th Annual Omaha Holiday Caroling Festivities - Sunday, 15 December 2013 | Omaha, Nebraska
9th Annual Iowa Holiday Caroling Festivities - Thursday, 19 December 2013 | Dunlap, Iowa
These enjoyable and rewarding community service projects are open to entertainers, singers, and musicians of all talent levels and ages. Click on each event above for more details and how to RSVP to participate.
