Surely you’ve noticed them! The Knights of Columbus have added white crosses to the landscape of Sacred Heart Church in Newton. These crosses are to remind us to “respect life.”
The crosses were originally placed in the ground in response to Roe v. Wade, the landmark case decided by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of abortion, and one of the most controversial and politically significant cases in U.S. Supreme Court history. These stark, white crosses are to remind us of the unborn babies killed in abortions each day. The crosses were also placed in the ground to commemorate Respect Life Month during October.
