St. Patrick's Council #10768 of the Knights of Columbus replaced the pro-life banner just west of Hampton IA along Highway 3 on the Jim and Sue Garrett property. The banner stating "Respect Life from conception to natural death" opposes abortion and euthanasia. The new banner and billboard were dedicated to the unborn and blessed on Sunday, November 26.
The larger 5'x15' banner replaces the original 4'x11' sign that was placed in October, 2010. A flower garden in honor of children lost will again be planted surrounding the underside as weather permits. Heritage House of Snowflake, Arizona produces the banners and other life literature. Approximately seventy volunteer hours went into the planning, framing and mounting of the billboard. A special thanks to Dick Lukensmeyer with whose help the billboard and landscaping would not be possible.
Jim Garrett is a past Grand Knight and one of the original charter members of Council #10768 which he helped establish after relocating to Hampton with Fareway in 1990. Jim and his wife, Sue, have maintained the billboard and flower garden since moving to the acreage in 2004.
