Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger." And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."  ~ Luke 2:8-14 ~

It is been said that all the kings who ever reigned, that all the parliaments that ever sat have not done as much to advance the cause of peace on Earth and good will to men as the man from Galilee, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus would become a great teacher and philosopher and so much more. He is divine, living assurance that God so loved the world He gave us His only begotten Son so that by believing in Him and learning to love each other we could one day be together in paradise.

However, our modern society often forgets that Christmas is a time to celebrate the birthday of the Prince of Peace and not commercialism. Jesus’ birth is moving and tells a story which has many similarities to our own -- a story of love, hope, and prayer. So as you celebrate the upcoming Christmas season with your family, friends, co-workers, Brother Knights, etc., please remember to Keep Christ in Christmas. As you do, it will surely brighten your Christmas.

Merry Christmas!

Viva Cristo Rey!
