See email below from Adam Scherbring, who is District Deputy for District 16; he is doing a fantastic job in district 16 and is a GREAT brother Knight. Adam is inviting district 15 and others to participate in Formation and Knighthood degree exemplifications on Sunday 20 May.
The purpose of the degrees is to teach Catholic gentlemen more about the Faith and the Order so that they may exemplify what it means to be a true Catholic Christian. It has also been shown that men who make the 2nd and 3rd degrees of the Order are much more likely to be engaged in the activities of the Order and in their parishes.
Grand Knights in District 15, please get a man or committee together in your councils to round up 1st-degree Knights who should participate in these educational exemplifications. Please let me know by the time of your May council meeting how many men in your council will be availing themselves of these exemplifications on 20 May.

Subject: 2nd and 3rd Degree

Brother Knights,
I have a tentative date for a 2nd and 3rd degree for May 20th. Again location to be determined yet. I'm pulling for Guttenberg to have it, however if West Union or Elkader or Clermont can guarantee me the most to obtain the 3rd degree, then we will have it there. Please let me know how many AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  Let's start knocking on doors and get members!
Thanks

Your DD (M) urges all individual Knights of Columbus in district 15 to support the following causes through prayer and, if possible, through financial contributions:

endsexualexploitation.org See an article on this in the February 2018 issue of Columbia: http://kofc.org/en/columbia/detail/stop-the-traffic.html

christophercolumbus.org
"When Christopher Columbus set sail on his voyage of discovery, he flew the banner of Castile. On that banner, Queen Isabella had written, 'Ne plus ultra,' meaning 'nothing more beyond' — because at that time, there was no territory known to exist west of her kingdom. When Columbus returned, the queen had the word 'ne' removed from her flag, for now they knew there was something more beyond. There will always be a 'more beyond' for us — more records to set, more neighbors to help, more families to serve. Vivat Jesus!"--Supreme Knight Carl Anderson, http://kofc.org/en/columbia/supreme_knight/fromthesk_20180201.html

Both of the above causes are supported by the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus.

Human Life Action believes in the inherent dignity of every life and the power of every American to raise his or her voice in defense of the vulnerable. When thousands upon thousands of people of good will raise their voices as one we are heard on Capitol Hill. We can--and must--help shape a public policy that protects life and liberty. Together we will be heard!

Steve,

From our ceremonials chairman: "2nd degree takes 40 minutes.  Candidate should be there at the start of the 2nd degree so that at the end he can join the other candidates in the anti-chamber."

Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for asking.

What if a Knight has completed the formation but not the knighthood degree. What time should they arrive?
