At DecorahKnights.tk, check out the “ALL IOWAKOFC.ORG WEBSITE ACTIVITY” box in the left column, second box down.  This box shows all of the activity for the entire IowaKofC.org website and is a quick and easy way to see where the action is on the entire IowaKofC.org website, including any activity on DecorahKnights.tk  This is like facebook for the Iowa Knights.  :-)  This was set up using the RSS feed feature; the URL I'm using is http://iowakofc.org/activity/log/list?fmt=rss  There's also the Archdiocesan news feed  I mentioned in an earlier post on this page, or you can find your own.  --The Council 4208 webmaster

This message is for Brother Knights who wish to set up a Council profile/website on the IowaKofC.org platform.  In addition to contacting Brother Marty Stratton with questions, as indicated here on his profile page, please feel free (as mentioned again below) to contact the Council 4208 webmaster with questions.  Setting up a Council website/profile is, as I have recently learned, actually quite easy and, thus, EVERY Council and Assembly should have a profile/website on the IowaKofC.org platform.  (By the way, I am NOT some sort of computer whiz; rather, I just know the basics of email and accessing websites and, given this limited background, I have been able to get the Council 4208 website/profile running.  Anyone can do it!)

***************************************

I hope you’ll take a look at the Council 4208 website; all you need to do is go to DecorahKnights.tk or http://iowakofc.org/profile/decorahknights and just scroll up and down to see all the information about the Decorah Knights of Columbus; it's that simple.

If it hasn’t already been done, I hope you or one of your fellow Council members will take the time to set up a website (aka profile) for your Council on the IowaKofC.org website.  Website training is at http://iowakofc.org/page/website-training  Feel free to use DecorahKnights.tk as a model.

And please don’t forget to give us feedback (or just say hi to us) on our website in the comment box at the very bottom of DecorahKnights.tk, by sending us a message via the IowaKofC.org message system (click on the “Inbox” link near the top right of your profile), or by sending email to DecorahKnights@gmail.com

Don't hesitate to contact me via DecorahKnights.tk or via my personal profile should you have questions.

Please add us as a "Friend" if we’re not already friends on the IowaKofC.org website.  :-)

Fraternally,
--The Council 4208 webmaster

Responding to Brother Timothy M. Ryan's comment, if you go to http://iowakofc.org/profile/decorahknights and scroll down to the second box in the left column, you'll see the "ARCHDIOCESAN NEWS" box.  I (the Council 4208 webmaster) set that up using the RSS feed box and using the following URL therein:  http://www.dbqarch.org/feed/   It's that simple!  :-)  And now I've got a nice news feed there from the Archdiocese of Dubuque.  I don't know if the other dioceses across the State of Iowa have RSS feeds like that for news.  All the best to you.

Each Council should have a profile (website) on IowaKofC.org; the Council 4208 (Decorah Knights) webmaster believes that this is vital for strengthening charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism amongst all Knights of Columbus across Iowa.   As indicated in this video, the profile is easy to set up, powerful because it connects Councils to each other, and FREE!  For one example of a Council profile, see the Council 4208 profile at DecorahKnights.tk or http://iowakofc.org/profile/decorahknights.  Please visit the Council 4208 profile and leave a comment in the comment box at the bottom of the page or send a comment via the IowaKofC.org message system or send email to DecorahKnights@gmail.com
