Coralville 4th Degree Exemplification

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FOURTH DEGREE IOWA DISTRICT – FATHER PADILLA PROVINCE Michael P. Gaspers, District Master Coralville, Iowa – Exemplification An exemplification will be held on Friday April 29th as the Iowa Jurisdiction begins its state convention in Coralville. I encourage each of you as leaders of the Fourth Degree to recruit brother Knights to become Sir Knights in defense of liberty and support of our legacy.


I am pleased to announce the Honoree for this exemplification will be Kevin Hayes. Sir Knight Hayes has served in many roles at both the Council and State level. He is currently the VAVS Representative for Eastern Iowa. Attached is a copy of the Coralville Exemplification Registration Form. We need you to proactively get candidate registrations sent in by April 22nd so arrangements can be properly made. We may not be able to provide enough meals at the banquet for those that register late. Women’s Activities 2:00 p.m. Puppy Jake Foundation – Support of Veterans

Speaker

Puppy Jake Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to help wounded military veterans with the assistance of well-bred and professionally trained service dogs. Veterans’ injuries may be invisible such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or physical mobility impairments. The Foundation advocates for increased awareness and accessibility for those accompanied by a service dog in everyday situations. For more information, please visit: www.puppyjakefoundation.org. 2:45 p.m. The Fourth Degree – A Woman’s Perspective

Large Group Discussion

Our host will lead the Group in a discussion about the 4th Degree in Iowa. Bring your questions if you are the partner of a new Sir Knight and your experiences if you are already married to a Sir Knight. All are welcome. Candidate Details The exemplification fee is set at $70 per candidate by Supreme. The dress code for a candidate for the fourth degree no longer requires a tuxedo. Rather: A candidate will wear a black or dark (blue or gray) business suit, with black shoes, white dress shirt and dark tie. A tuxedo will still be acceptable but not mandatory. A candidate serving in the armed forces of his country, full-time police and firefighters may wear a Class A or dress uniform. A candidate who is also a priest or deacon may wear clerical attire.·


Candidate meal is no charge. Guest meals are $32 each. NOTE: the Iowa District has limited scholarship money available to cover the exemplification fee for deserving veterans. Send written attestation of need from Faithful Navigator to the District Master prior to the date of exemplification.


Mail all copies of Form 4 – Fourth Degree Membership Document (properly signed), along with a check (payable to Iowa District Master) for your $70 Exemplification fee and requests for additional guest meal tickets to: Kevin McKinney, District Secretary
