Terrain Therapy Garden 19August Update

Updated: Aug 13, 2019

Terrain Therapy Garden & District Master Matching Challenge Update

Within the months of June and July 2019 the TTG Board were notified of grants of $40,000 from Prairie Meadows and $10,000 from the Sammons Group. There was also a private donation (from KOC member) of $10,000. The project fundraising is really coming along well.

Brother Sir Knight Mark Lyle is bundling all the KOC Council, Assembly and known KOC members donations into one sum toward naming rights for one area of the garden. By his count the Knights are just over $32,000 in total donations as of August 1st so as of right now Knights qualify to have our name on the shuffleboard venue, and with the District Master matching gift, getting close to the putting green gifting level. The project in total is just over $81,000 toward a $250,000 goal.

As you know your District Master is offering $5,000 in matching dollars for donations made by assemblies between convention and the end of November. You may recall Assembly 263 gave $1,000 this year’s convention. In June Assembly 3030 donated $250.00 and in July Assembly 3378 gave $1,000 bringing the total toward the match to $2,250.

That leaves $2,750 on the table toward fulfilment of the $5K match. If successful, the matching challenge will net $10K toward the garden.

Once we can complete the matching challenge we are within an additional $10K of being able to have the Knights of Columbus name on the Welcome Plaza. That is the entry to the garden and will have the Freedom Rock as the centerpiece. Spread the word and let’s challenge ourselves as Knights to reach the Welcome Plaza support level and more for this great veteran’s project.
